Zara Zara Kareeb Aa Lyrics – Sonu Nigam, Yamini Ghantasala | Ateet

Zara Zara Kareeb Aa Song Description

This song "Zara Zara Karib Aa" from the film Ateet is an extremely romantic and soothing track, beautifully voiced by Sonu Nigam and Yamini Ghantasala. The lyrics of this song have been written by Shakeel Azmi, and the music is composed by Harish Sagane. This song beautifully expresses love, closeness, and the desire to lose oneself in one another. As the song progresses, the listener experiences a gentle intoxication and enchantment, reflecting that moment in love when the heart longs for the other person to come closer.

The song begins with the lines "Halka halka surur hai, aankhon mein kuch fitur hai" (There’s a gentle intoxication, a strange magic in the eyes), describing how love brings a lightheaded euphoria and a mysterious charm to one’s eyes. Then the lines "Lamha lamha jaag ke jee le mere saath mein, ek mukammal raat chahiye" (Live every waking moment with me, I desire a complete night) express the wish to live each moment fully awake, spending an entire night immersed in love. Following this, through "Ye jo surur-e-vasl hai, yahi chahaton ki fasl hai" (This intoxication of union is the harvest of all desires), it is explained that this bliss of togetherness is the true fruit of love, and the heart is so overflowing with love that it spills over.

The final part of the song arrives with profound imagery like "Main suraj hoon dhup ka, tu saaye ki jheel hai" (I am the sun of sunlight, you are a lake of shade). Here, the lover calls himself the sun and the beloved a lake of shadow, then says "Main tera hi wajood hoon, tujh mein main maujood hoon" (I am your very existence, I reside within you). Finally, through "Aaja meri baahon mein, bhar loon tujhko saanson mein" (Come into my arms, let me fill you into my breath), the yearning to absorb the beloved completely is expressed. This song reflects that innocent and deep longing in love, where every moment is special and there remains only the wish to come "Zara zara karib" (just a little closer).
